49 Student Artists Win Reflections Art Program for Duval County

The Duval County Council of PTA is proud to announce the winners of the 2022-2023 Reflections Art Program for Duval County. Congratulations to the Award of Excellence and Merit winners! Forty-nine (49) Awards of Excellence winners will represent Duval County and their local schools at the State level phase of this year’s program. 2022 -2023 Hurricane Disaster Relief Diaper Drive

DCCPTA will be doing a Diaper Drive to help those on Florida’s West Coast that suffered a great amount of loss due to the recent hurricanes. We will be collecting for Newborn to Toddler size diapers and pull-ups to ship over to help many families who are in desperate need of these.  We will have a collection box located at the back of the Cline Auditorium at our January 24th general meeting. Thank you in advance for helping DCCPTA with this project.

DCCPTA has been working with the school board over the summer concerning the dress code and enforcement. A Letter from the President October 2022

I can’t believe fall is here! We are changing gears from hot summer days to cool crisp mornings and evenings.   It has been so exciting to have a lot of our PTA/PTSAs reinstated, some haven’t had a PTA in 5 to 10 years!  We want to welcome all those new Local Units and I as well as the other board members are here to help make your school year a success. 2022 Duval County Schools Dress Code Update

Resolution Background As many of you may remember, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Advocacy Committees worked on drafting a dress code resolution last school year.  The resolution was first approved by our DCCPTA Board and then it was shared with our local chapters for them to vote on and the resolution was approved with a majority vote across our local DCPS PTA/PTSA’s.  The next step in the process was to then share our resolution with the DCPS school board for their consideration, which we did at the end of last school year.  To clear up some confusion, our DCCPTA resolutions are not binding with DCPS nor the school board.  It is simply an advocacy tool that we can use

A Letter from the President August 2022

Welcome back to all our Local Units for the 2022-2023 School Year.  I am excited about our new year, and we have so many PTA/PTSA’s that are re-starting.  We have a phenomenal DCCPTA Board this year and we are off to a great start with having our first board meeting in person since Covid. I have had a very busy summer attending the National PTA Convention and Hill Day in Virginia this past June as well attended the Florida PTA Convention in Orlando, Florida.  The DCCPTA delegates that attended the convention did an outstanding job representing Duval County and I was so proud of each of them. Compliance Checklist At A Glance Below is a list of tips on how to keep your local PTA unit in good standing. Reviewing the compliance sheet here to ensure you are meeting all standards Registering your officers with Florida PTA here.  Remember, elections must be held annually.
