Florida PTA is proud to present the Second Annual Healthy Children, Healthy Future State Summit, November 13th and 14th. In keeping with our long history of advocating for the physical and emotional well-being of every child, Florida PTA has reached out to the medical community, state agencies, community organizations, and school districts to work collaboratively in this endeavor. The Healthy Children, Healthy Future State Summit will build on this effort by bringing together PTA leaders, medical professionals, educators, and health & wellness experts from around the state to explore the connection between the physical and emotional wellness of our children. We will learn and share strategies to create, support, and maintain a healthy environment within our schools, communities, and homes.

Florida PTA Scholarship Opportunity!
Florida PTA is pleased to offer an opportunity for assistance to qualified students who wish to continue their education beyond high school. Florida PTA offers a total of four (4) scholarships, one each in the following categories: University, Fine Arts, Community College, and Vo-Tech, to a student graduating in the 2016-2017 school year. This is a one-time (non-renewable) award of $2,000.00 and will be awarded to a worthy student who is interested in getting a start in life through higher education. The Florida PTA Scholarship is available for all high school seniors who are a member of their high school PTA/PTSAs or the Sunshine State PTA. Deadline for all applications is February 1, 2017. Our advocacy efforts are based on our legislative priorities as well as National and Florida PTA Resolution/Position Statements and extend beyond the legislature to the Governor’s office and the Department of Education. LegCon will include informative guest presenters, talking points for your meetings, and networking opportunities.
